ビギーの最後の蔵出アルバムになるんじゃないかと目されている、年末発売予定の話題作『Duets; The Final Chapter』。 すでにボブ・マーリー「Johnny Was」をフックに引用した 先行曲「Hold Ya Hand」が話題になっちょりますが、その他のデュエット相手が先ほど発表されました。

８mileタイプの半自伝的映画「Get Rich or Die Tryin'」を全米で１１月に公開する予定の５０セント。その映画内容に則した新録アルバム『Music From and Inspired by the Motion Picture "Get Rich or Die Tryin' "』がリリースされる。リードシングルは「Hustler's Ambition」で、５０セントことカーティス・ジャクソンが劇中で演じるマーカスの生い立ちをスピット。「Window Shopper」では高額なスニーカーに憧れるマーカスの気持ちをライム。製作はドクタードレー、ハイ・テック（Hi-Tek）など。「Fuck The Police」（N.W.A.）に南部のひねりを加えたような強力チューン「We Don't Need No Help」には、Gユニット構成員のヤング・バックを迎えている。１１月８日リリース。

新譜発売に向けて模様替え中の公式サイトでは1stシングル"Nine Million Bicycle"のPV（10ccの人が監督）をフル視聴できるほか、全曲のサンプル試聴もできますよ。５割近くをカバー曲で埋めた前作に対し、今作はオリジナルがメインになるとのことで、その完成度が気になります。ちなみに１０曲目の"Just Like Heaven"はThe Cureのカバーだそう。

蟹江西こと Kanye West の新作『Late Registration』が８月３０日、 先行リリースされた日本に続いて全世界でも発売され、 米のサイトはどこもかしこもお祭り騒ぎ。 その音楽業界全体に対するインパクトたるやや 相当なもののようです。 芸能人最高のステータスとも言われるタイム誌の表紙まで飾ってしまって、 蟹江の勢いはとどまるところを知りません。（Time Magazineの記事はこちら）
そして気になるアルバムの評価ですが、これまた一点の曇りも見あたらない圧倒的な蟹江の勝利。 代表的なヒップホップ・レビュー・サイトでの評価は以下のとおり３サイトに渡ってほぼ満点となっています。

NaS をフィーチャーした "We Magor" は一部で未収録との情報が流れましたが、収録されることになり、Scarface の『The Fix』('02) 以来久々に天敵の Jay-Z と同じアルバムで共演することになりました。一方、John Mayer をフィーチャーした話題曲 "Bittersweet" は今作の色に合わないということで次回作までおあずけ。ちなみに次回作、次々回作のタイトルは一応決まっていて、それぞれ『Graduation』、『Good Ass Job』ということです。
なお、HMVに日本盤の詳細が掲載されていますが（こちら）、国内盤はデジパック仕様＆ポスター付き、ボーナストラック２曲（"We Can Make It Better", "Back to Basics"）収録、期間限定スペシャル価格1980円ということで、国内盤の方が断然お得のようです。

未だ精力的に活動を続ける Jay-Z は言うまでもなく、最近突然の引退表明で世間を騒がせた Jin も姿形を変えラップ・ゲームに留まるという話が出ているので、９月以降 Eminem がまったくマイクを握らなくなるというのはにわかに信じがたいですね。以前当サイトで『The Funeral（葬儀）』と題した２枚組のベスト（＋α）が年末にリリースされるという”うわさ話”をお伝えしましたが、その記事にあったように Eminem という人格を葬るだけなのかもしれません。
